Combination of short trekking and Rafting
The watershed for the River Tamor extends from the slopes of the mountains of the Umbhak Himal on the border with Tibet, across to the slopes of Kanchenjunga (the world's third highest peak). It is an outstandingly beautiful river with superb views of the Himalayas mountain range, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Makalu. The river trip includes around 120 km of continuous 125 rapids, grade 3 to 4, with some graded -5, making one of the best white water expedition trips in the world.
The trip is organized by Cultural Treks & Expedition Pvt. Ltd. and starts with an internal flight or drive from Kathmandu to Biratnagar in the far South-East of Nepal. From there, we take a private bus to drive to Basantapur in the Tehrathum Region, where we camp overnight. The following day, we begin an awe-inspiringly beautiful 5 day trek to Dobhan through the remote Taplejung region of Eastern Nepal. From Dobhan we begin the exhilarating 5 day rafting and kayaking trip, which includes a day relaxing on a remote river beach or an optional one day trek visiting local villages.
The best times to try to “Tame the Tamor” are in October and November and February to May. In addition to our scheduled expeditions, we can also organize a custom suited trip for groups of up to six or more person. We can accommodate your itinerary and any other requirements. Optional outgoing/return flights to Kathmandu or journeys to Chitwan National Park and treks in the Kanchanjunga region can also be arranged.

Arrival in Kathmandu, meet our staff then transfer to Hotel.
Fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar then drive about 5 hours to starting point for the expedition. We reach in Basantapur by 09:00a.m. You are served breakfast there. After that you can explore the Nepalese life-style by yourself, while other makes ready porters for trekking starting from tomorrow. Lunch will be served at 1300 & dinner at 1900hrs and over-night stay at guest house or Hotel.
After having heavy breakfast we get ready for heavy trekking. It will serve lunch & dinner en-route. Over-night in tent or available tea-house.

Full day trekking. Finally we reach at Dhovan (our get-in point).
It is the first day of wild water expedition. First day is slightly hard & full of beautiful scenery camping at Cabeli Dhovan.
After taking breakfast, we get ready for another day adventure. This section of the river is little easy than yesterday. Lunch is served at 1300hrs. Overnight camping at the river beach.
Full day rafting on Tamor and in the evening camping.

Finally, we arrived at Chatara (Dharan). This is our take-out spot, where we will have lunch & then we take night bus to get back to Kathmandu. If you have different destination, we help you to choose your right bus by your own.
We arrived in Kathmandu at 7:00a.m. then transfer to Hotel.
