Dudh Kunda Trekking

This new and unique trek has been designed by Cultural Treks & Expedition to provide an insider's look at the high mountains and remote Solu Region.

Dudh Kunda Lake Trek located though less high and famous than the neighboring Khumbu, it is likewise inhabited by the friendly Sherpa people. Solu also receives far less trekking traffic than the Khumbu, making for a more intimate and authentic experience. Dudh Kunda Lake is situated at the foot of Numbur Himal, locally known as Shorong Yul Lha, “Protector of Solu ".

From Kathmandu we drive to Bhandar through the Jiri road and during two days we follow the Jiri - Lukla old route before heading to a completely new route through forested ridges and sparsely inhabited area. From day six, we trek through high pastures, pine and rhododendron forests without permanent settlement. Walking upstream the Beni Khola we reach Dudh Kunda and keep one day for exploring around. Rather than retracing our footsteps in return, we descend towards Khumbu region for ending in Lukla. Next day we fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport, meet our staff then transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Free.
Day 03: Drive to Bhandar (2194m.) by Bus then transfer to Camping.
Day 04: Bhandar – Serdingma (2410m.)
Day 05: Serdingma – Kyama.
Day 06: Kayama – Chorma.
Day 07: Chorma – Lakoma Kharka.
Day 08: Lakhoma Kharka – Chatharam Kharka.
Day 09: Chatharam Kharka – Sasarbeni.
Day 10: Sasarbeni – Dudh Kunda 5000m.
Day 11: Sasarbeni exploration around.
Day 12: Sasarbeni – Thanga (3800m.)
Day 13: Thanga – Tate.
Day 14: Tate – Lukla and transfer to Hotel.
Day 15: Lukla – Kathmandu by flight then transfer to Hotel.
Day 16: Kathmandu free.
Day 17: Last minute, transfers to airport for your onward journey.

Camping Trek Cost Includes:

• All land transportation by Car, Van, Hiace or, tourist Bus. (Airport/Hotel/Airport & trekking pick up & drop).
• 4 Night’s hotel accommodation in Kathmandu at Bed & Breakfast basis.
• All 3 major meals Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner (provide continental food) & accommodation in tented camp during the trek en-route. (twin sharing North Face tent or, normal trekking tent, dining tent, toilet tent, Kitchen tent, staff tent, Table, chairs & Kitchen utensil etc.).
• 1English speaking trekking guide, 1 Cook, Kitchen boys, necessary Sherpa & Porters.
